Following the workshop, Play on Films have began using Google Apps to store and share general word and excel files. With a high volume of data in video and pitcure files, Play on Films are planning to use google apps as a online back-up facility will obtain futher guidance and support to enable this. They plan to store more than 20GB online and reduce their use of large external hard drives. They will benefit from savings in sharing information such as buying hard drives and sending them in post. Play on Films reach is International and they will be able to collaborate easily with colleagues overseas. Play on Films plans to reduce their overall print costs be being able to edit and proof-read shared documents online. PoF already use Skype and telephone instead of travel for meetings but are interested in the Google Chat and Goggle Plus applications which are useful for video calls with multiple people.

Project name and objectives:

The ERDF funded project - Environmental Savings through ICT (Green ICT) is a Global Action Plan - UK initiative to assist 122 SMEs in London increase their economic performance and reduce a total of 100 tonnes of CO2. The project is part financed by the GLA's ERDF Programme 2007-13. The aim of the project is to help small and medium sized businesses to implement IT solutions to help them manage and reduce their environmental impact while optimising business growth.
